Indian post office gds vacancy 2024: Educational qualifications
Candidate must have passed the 10th standard mathematics and English.
- Knowledge of Regional Language
- Ability to ride a bicycle
- Adequate means of livelihood
The candidate applying for the post shall have adequate means of livelihood as stipulated in Rule 3-A (iii) of GDS Rules to support himself and his family from other sources to supplement his income. However, this not be a pre-requisite for candidates for selection.
The Branch Post Office may be housed in a building owned by the Gram Panchayat. The GDS Branch Office’s space should be reserved exclusively for Postal Service use.
The GDS Branch Office (GDS BO ) should be positioned in the village’s main busy area.

The GDS selection process is entirely on merit basis of the candidate marks in the 10th standard examination.
10 standard percentages to the accuracy of decimal will be the criteria for financial election
No additional weightage or preference will be given to higher qualifications or work experience.
Candidates must have their mark sheets in original submission at the time of document verification before appointment.
If two candidates get the same marks, the candidate with the higher date of birth will be preferred. After that preference will be given as ST Female, SC female, OBC female, UR female, ST Male, OBC male and UR Male.
